A "New" Hobby

I love to read. I might be a nerd, but oh well. Reading is fun; it gets my mind off of my real life, because I get so absorbed into the characters' lives. It's better than TV because there are no commercials to interrupt you, and you can take it anywhere you go, even school. But the reason most teens don't like to read is because they're reading the wrong things.

Here are some series that you will definitely enjoy. I've finished all of them, and I'm ready for more! (:

Gossip Girl, by Cecily von Ziegesar

The TV show was based on this book series, and everyone who has read it has said that the series is 100% better than the show. (I didn't care for the show either.) Blair and Serena are best friends, and Blair has been in love with Nate since kindergarten. So has Serena ...

The Clique, by Lisi Harrison

This series is about a group of 7th graders who have formed a clique. There is a leader, a few followers, and lots of wanna-bes. The only thing harder than getting in is staying in.

Private, by Kate Brian

A middle-class girl is accepted into a high-class private school. She's faced with cliques, drama, murder, scandal, and more. You will not want to put this down!

The A-List, by Zoey Dean

East coast Anna moves to the west coast to live with her wealthy dad. On the way there, she meets Ben and her life begins.

Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants, by Ann Brashares

Four best friends find magical pants that fit them all and follow them throughout their summer vacation. The spirit of the pants holds them together as they go their separate ways.

Pretty Little Liars, by Sara Sheperd

Best friends are reunited after 5 years of not speaking due to the loss of a friend. Five years later they find her body.

The It Girl, by Cecily von Ziegesar

Little Jenny Humphrey isn't little anymore. She was accepted into a new private school and she is doing big things ...VERY big things.

I think you should also read books by these great authors:

Sarah Dessen (especially Just Listen)
Liz Ruckdeschel & Sara James
Sarah Weeks (I love So B. It)
Meg Cabot
Ann Martin (The Burn Book is great!)
Lois Duncan (author of I Know What You Did Last Summer)
Dave Pelzer (The Lost Boy is very touching)
Stephen King (It is scary!)
Paula Chase (So Not the Drama is so real!)
L. Divine (Drama High sounds like my school)
Scott Westerfield (Pretties, Uglies & Specials Wow!)
Ally Carter (I'd Tell You I Love, But Then I'd Have to Kill You Sounds dangerous!)
Jerry Spinelli (Stargirl I want to be her!)
