Wind and Fire
By Tess, age 15, Florida
Just a simple I Love You,
Was enough to be the beginning of our lives,
But where are you now,
As my bleeding heart cries?
It cries for that hurt,
For that hurt to go away,
It longs for those nights,
When you knew exactly what to say.
The wind took those nights,
Took them and made them sick,
The wind turned down the fire,
It broke the candle wick.
As I search for a meaning,
You can't help but criticize,
As I long for your love,
The wind brings our fire to the skies.
The wind took those nights,
It took away our joy,
For the wind is the only thing,
That fire can't destroy.
