Love stories. They're best selling books. They're the hottest movies. Titanic, the top grossing movie ever, made more than 1.88 billion dollars. And they're the reason Taylor Swift's song "Love Story" spent 35 weeks on the billboard charts. Ultimately, I think a good love story is what teens look for in a book. And Sarah Dessen is one of the best teen love story writers. With 8 novels under her belt, it's obvious she knows what she's doing.
Hands down, my favorite Sarah Dessen book is Just Listen. It's a book that every girl should read once in her life. Unfortunately, if I had to write a review for Just Listen it would take more than this paragraph. Luckily for me, Sierra, a fellow Sweet Designs writer, wrote a review in the May '08 issue that I highly recommended.
My second favorite book is The Truth About Forever, which makes a fantastic summer read! As her boyfriend leaves Macy for a summer school camp, he also leaves her his job at the library. Her father just recently passed away, and it seems her mother is having a tough time coping with her loss. Then, at an open house she helps her mother with, she meets the Wish catering company. She also meets Wess, a highly attractive artistic guy, who changes Macy's view on life. It's through the Wish company that Macy realizes what she wants in life.
