My Black is Beautiful

My black is beautiful,
the warmth of my skin,
the curve of my hips.
The depth in my bones,
and the brown of my eyes.
My black is beautiful,
as beautiful as the sun in the sky,
or the wind off the sea.
I am me, and I am black.
I am beautiful, fact for fact.
The color of my skin does not dictate my life,
or the way that I dream.
I am me, and I am black,
and that black is beautiful.
Just like the blue of your eyes,
and the length of your legs,
like the wind in your hair,
and the trim of a sail.
I am me, I am black, and that is beautiful.
No doubt in my mind, that you are you,
and you too are beautiful.
No matter your life,
or the pigment of your skin,
you are you, and you are beautiful.
He,
She,
Me,
and We,
together,
side by side,
beautiful, for the world to see.
I am Black, and my Black, like you, is Beautiful.
