FUN STUFF: POETRY

Love

By Genny, age 18, Malta

Love. Well, they say it makes the world go round, but does it really? Well, some say it does, some say it doesn't, but no one knows for sure. Everybody has a different opinion on love, and the good and the bad that come with it. Can anyone describe love? Since Saint Valentine's is approaching, the love one mentions is the one between couples, but in general love is an expression that can be given from anyone to anyone, a love of a mother to her children and husband, the love of a caring neighbour, and many, many others.

I decided to express my theory of what love means through a poem that I hope you will find interesting. So here goes! :)

True love's forever
And love is blind
Love is gentle
Love is kind.

Love is tender
Love is sweet
Love's a dance
That sweeps you off your feet.

Love's a person
That's yours forever
And a lifetime
Spent together.

Trust that person
&& Don't let go
Love's a reason
Love's a stage show.

Love is a memory
Of happiness past
Or a hope for the future
For good things to last.

Love is sadness
Love is pain
&& Sometimes it passes
Like a rushing train.

Love is for everyone
But for no one at all
'Cause if you don't believe in it
Then it's not yours && you fall.

Love unites us together
Sometimes tears us apart
It can be of great value
Or it can break your heart.
'Cause love is a gift
Given to us from above
To rich and to poor
There are no limits to love!

Written by me. Especially dedicated to my boyfriend Etienne whom I love with all my heart, and I know loves me back as well :) xxxxx

Happy Saint Valentine's to all of you out there :)

Genny
