Things Change

By Janet, age 17, California

Things change & you're back at square one.

things seem to be going downhill...
while things were slowly getting better they come crashing down at 150mph!!

but we must not look at things like that;

we must work hard to get to where we want to be.

Life waits for no one.

i t g o e s o n w i t h o r w i t h o u t y o u.

you must find those who won't leave your side

& yet still be there for those who kind of did;

show them you still care and love them no matter what.

you must learn how to be happy with yourself -
your life,
your decisions -
happy with yourself as a whole.

Sometimes people won't like the things you do or the life you lead,

but who gives a f***!!!
it's your life and they must learn to respect that;

then there are those who will support your reckless behavior...

yes, we are teens but we can't be stupid either;

WE must surpass those goals that O T H E R S have set for us,

but it's okay if we don't.

only WE truly know what we are about
and what we believe in, what we love, and what we are capable of,

so sometimes instead of seeing things negatively
one must shine a purrty purple flashlight on them,

and you'll see the glass isn't half empty, it's half-full,

and instead of things coming crashing down...

they're actually taking a detour, so sit back & enjoy the scenic view.

Stay true

One Love
