Fall has fallen upon us all (unless you live south of the equator, in which case you're going, "Fall? I think she means spring!" With fall comes Back to School, and also, if you live in New England like me, cooler temps, changing leaves, and harvest fairs. Our writers cover it all and more in the September issue of Sweet Designs Magazine!Vicki, 22, from South Africa, Miss Deaf South Africa 2009/2010, who contributed "8 Things We Can Learn from Taylor Swift" (in June 2011) is featured this month. I think you will find her story, "My Name Means Victorious," both interesting and inspiring.
This is one of our best issues ever, with many excellent features. Diana from Romania gives her views on "Being a Parent." Sarah Jayne from England shares the 80's magic of "A Bon Jovial Tour." Cindy from Texas examines teens' quest for "Perfection," and new writer Navdeep (aka Navi) from Canada explains why "Sometimes You Have to Put Yourself First."
Also, Imani from South Africa navigates the teenage world of "Strangers," Sara from Pennsylvania tells her tale of changing schools and discovering "Unexpected Friends," and Charlotte from England writes, "Dear Diary ..."
Three of our top stories this month come from young teens. Julia from New York intertwines two well-told tales to make one excellent point in "Copper and New Contentment." Shanice stands up and starts making her own decisions in "Do As You Are Asked To Do." And one of our writers, writing anonymously, discusses the realities of social standing and cliques in her high school in "From Queen Bee to Wanna-Be."
Last but certainly not least, Jasmin, who earned a Gold Star during her original time with us writing fashion articles in 2008-09, returns after a two year absence with "Let Summer Inspire Your Look This Fall." Welcome back, Jasmin!
There's quality, and then there's quantity, and the Sweet September issue of SDM lacks for neither. Above is just a sampling of the terrific articles this month. The issue is so big, in fact, that I decided to hold 10 or 12 of this month's features till October - so enjoy both issues! And, most of all, enjoy your fall!! :)
