The March issue of Sweet Designs Magazine features India, founder of Darn-licious, and creator of knitted and crocheted fashion accessories which combine functionality with style. I interview India about how she has pursued her passion through her online design business. My Editor's Pick this month is Sarah Jayne's (UK) "Arts Graduates and the Dark Night of the Soul," a must-read for those considering or reconsidering their choice of university major.
I also call your attention to "A Triple Threat" by Alisha (MA), her true story of how three friends, each in their own way, helped her survive some awkward and painful teenage years and successfully make the transition to being a well-adjusted young adult.
Other articles I want to recommend include: "The Thick Envelopes" by Lauren (CA), with some useful advice about those college packets that we hold our breath for and hope contain acceptance letters and generous incentives to attend. New writer Kassondra (RI) shares with us "Dating Isn't Easy: My True Story" (or, what happens when Price Charming turns out to be a total jerk!). Another new contributor, Erin (WA), checks in with what every girl needs to know about "Healthy Hair and Vitamins."
Danielle is back in South Carolina after her adventure in Indiana ("Life in the Dumps," SDM, Feb '12 - a must-read if there ever was one), and follows up on that powerful story with "Southern Love." Tracy (OR) recounts the sad-but-true tale of her "One Night Valentine." And finally, Naiche (NY) offers up some fresh suggestions for when "It's a Date."
I'd love to hear your fresh dating alternatives to "dinner and a movie" too. Or whatever's on your mind. As Sweet Designs Magazine kicks it into high gear again, we're looking for new ideas, fresh faces, talented and experienced writers, and cool features on the topics that matter to you.
