Age 17, California

Joined the SDM Team: August 2010

Why I Write for SDM: To inspire others to get back on their feet. There's little point in laying down. Greatness is a plan, a will, and not enough time.

Activities, Sports, Interests: I love having a microphone in my hand, acting, and studying cryptology whenever I get the chance. Community service is a big part of my life, though I prefer helping writers over lifting barrels of hay and setting up tables. I participate in the Inland Valley Symphony (1 of 4 young people within the group) as well as the after school orchestra at my high school. If I could clone myself, the clone would be a fashion designer turned pop singer who plays piano, not violin. I play tennis on occasion.

Favorite Authors: Angie Sage, Tamora Pierce, and J.R.R. Tolkien top the list.

Favorite School Subjects: I look forward to American Sign Language and Drama class; AP Chemistry is interesting (I love the information), but moves too fast for me to absorb anything.

Favorite Movies & TV Shows: I live without a TV, so ... if it's comedy, I'll like it.

I listen to: A strange blend of Nightcore, Italian pop music, Natasha Bedingfield, and UK music. Just about everything, really, as long as doesn't include foul language.

Most Important Values: Determination, self-motivation, and integrity.

I enjoy: Making jewelry, solving ciphers, writing, reading, and sewing.

Future Plans: My dream job is to be a news anchor, writing fantasy stories at night. As for college, who knows? I'm sure I'll be happy anywhere. I'd like to major in communications, with an emphasis on broadcasting.
