Must See TV

By Kristin, age 14, California

With shows like Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy dominating TV screens around the world, and tons of great new shows coming on now, the question is, "What do I watch?" Some of my new faves are:

Pushing Daisies
Private Practice
Gossip Girl

Pushing Daisies
I give this show a ten! It's sweet, funny, witty, and mysterious. It's not a show for everyone - it's awfully strange - but don't knock it till you've tried it. The plot centers on Ned, a pie making man who has a special talent. He can touch dead bodies and bring them back to life ... but if he keeps them alive for longer than a minute, not only can he never touch that person again, but someone else has to die. Ned's childhood love Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles died and he brought her back. Now when each of them finally finds love, it's with someone they can't touch. Hmm, how will that work?

Private Practice
It's Grey's Anatomy ... twice a week! But it's unlike Grey's in that the characters are a little more mature, along with the fact that each show doesn't begin or end with adultery and such. Kate Walsh gets to really shine in this fall hit.

Gossip Girl
If you've read the book series, you know what to expect; if not, expect lies, betrayal, romance, money, and (of course) gossip. Narrated flawlessly by Gossip Girl (Kristen Bell from Veronica Mars), an anonymous internet gossip columnist, the story follows the lives of Upper East Side teens Blair Waldorf, Serena van der Woodsen, Nate Archibald, and Chuck Bass.

Whatever you choose to watch this season, I wish you all happy viewing!!
