Why I Write for SDM: Writing is a great creative outlet for me. It has been since I first took creative writing in elementary school. And I love the magazine's diverse topics.

Activities, Sports, Interests: I'm not much into sports, but I like pilates and jogging, and I meditate and practice yoga daily.

Favorite Authors: My favorite author would have to Madeline Warwick. (She also writes under the name Sophie Kinsella.) I also like Kate Brian, Natasha Friend, and anything relating to spiritual enlightenment or nutrition.

Favorite School Subject: English

Favorite Movies & TV Shows: What About Bob?, Stepmom, Grey's Anatomy, Golden Girls (embarrassing, I know =), The Daily Show, and Colbert Report

I listen to: Changes constantly ... I'm usually into the exact opposite of what's playing on Top 40. Some all time favorites would be The Beatles, John Mayer, and Ben Folds.

Most Important Values: The thought of just treating all life with respect and kindness is my most important value.

I enjoy: Most of my free time is spent writing, reading, organizing, baking, cleaning, and listening to music. I also have an obsession with politics. I'm probably the only teenager in the world to find C-Span riveting.

Future Plans: I would like to open a small organic, vegan bakery in Portland, OR. That would be my main goal, but I definitely want to have kids someday too.

What I'm All About: I asked my mom what she thinks I'm all about and she said I'm the girl who wants to save the world. I don't know if I'd go that far, but I would like to bring some peace and happiness to it.

Favorite Quotes: I have a few; these are my favorites:

"I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong." - John Lennon

"May all things that have life be delivered from suffering." - Buddha

"If slaughterhouses had glass walls, everyone would be vegetarian." - Paul McCartney
