If the house were to burn,I'd save love letters.
The ones where you said you didn't know what love was before me,
And even the one from Valentine's Day.
Tuck them under my shirt - for protection.
If the house were to burn,
I'd save your shirt.
You complained about the price, the color, the way it looked better on me.
Hopefully the cloth didn't burn.
If the house were to burn,
I'd leave you.
Watch me fall from grace, a laugh and extinguished cigarette.
"Change," I'd say,
The house is ashes now.
